I only listen to this station on Saturdays and Sundays for the polka shows. It is unfair you are considering no longer airing these 4 shows. Especially after we all just raised all that money to help towards the support!

I believe it is time for WMUA to realize that it's more than a student playground with shows like Magic Pig Detective etc but is an important cultural resource for the Pioneer Valley. The musical culture of Polka is indispensible to our listeners who have supported this station so selflessly. Shame on you, WMUA and U Mass

Listen to the polka shows from Arizona to Michigan. On the road and at home. Please reconsider your actions and keep polka music going. Now, more than ever young adults are making an impact to the genre and that right there shows polkas will be around for a long, long time. Just look at the many videos from the USPA, IPA & many more and you can see the youth involvement along with veteran musicians playing the music we all so love. For instance Google Box On Band and it will show you how the genre is growing stronger and stronger and with people like Randy Koslosky doing ProAm jams as well. Not only are the young musicians playing and they are introducing this music to their peers. It is worthwhile to see what's going on, before taking away what so many hold so dear in their hearts... Young and old and in between.

I have been listening to the Polka Programs on WMUA for thirty years.I was always proud that a local Radio Station continued to provide such great enjoyment for the Polka Fans in Western MA and worldwide via the Internet and the Polka Jammer Network. I strongly urge that the present Polka Programs on Saturday and on Sunday continue! Polka Fans have been very generous with their financial support over the years. It has been a tangible expression of our appreciation that WMUA had the Polka Programs on its schedule!

I frequently tune in online from Rome NY. Cutting the hours of polka music is discriminatory act and a huge slap in the face to the polish community that just raised $24,000 for your station!

Polka Music on WMUA has been a part of my families weekends for as long as I can remember. Listening to the shows every weekend is a regular part of our mornings and looked forward to as the end of the week comes. As a DJ/IJ, I have been invited to the Polkathon and have participated in the fundraising for WMUA. I spent time on the air pleading and begging for listeners to pledge money to keep the polkas on the air every year by donating for operating costs. It's a bad thing to bite the hand that feeds you and show such disregard to the loyal listeners of the station. I proudly sign this petition and hope the management realizes the huge mistake they have made and the damage to the station and the schools reputation it has earned over so many years of providing thousands of listeners with the Polka Music shows on the weekends.

Having grown up with polka music and still enjoying it, I don't think 12 hrs on a weekend is at all excessive! Four hours is no where near enough!. WAKE UP and hear the music!!

Polka music in Western Mass. is as much a fixture as its Fall foliage. I am a regular visitor to the area and a frequent listener to WMUA (via its internet stream and the Polka Jammer Network) and have, for years, been entertained and educated by Belina, Zaganiac, et. al. I strongly urge you to not bite the hand that feeds you and reconsider your programming decision. Polka music deserves that and more.

Polka music on WMUA is as much a fixture of western Mass. as its Fall foliage. As a regular visitor to the area and frequent listener to the station (via its internet feed), I strongly urge you to reconsider your decision and keep current polka programming intact.

After moving to Wisconsin in 2007, I always felt at home listening to polka shows on WMUA all weekend long. I was disappointed to learn about the decision of the station management. Having listeners from all over the world and fan base that would consistently donate to the cause I'm at a loss to even comprehend this decision!
