We have listened to WMUA for years. Hopefully, with folks signing this petition and calling UMass., the administration will "revisit" the fiasco which they initiated.

Please don't take our pleasure away by talking the polkas off Saturday and Sunday . I really looked forward to weekends for the polkas. I listened to what you put on in place of the polkas Sunday morning and it's disgusting . These kids you had on were disgusting . I couldn't believe you would replace such happy music for that junk they were playing.i know if you don't put t he polkas back on Saturdays I won't turn on Wmua radio iam not the only one who feels this way your taking away a really good thing from your radio station sincerely Elaine Yeskie 17 Faigr Street Northampton Ma.

Listening to Polka music on Saturdays and Sundays is the highlight of my week. PLEASE !!! restore all the hours of the GREAT music for all that enjoy it. Think of all the money raised by the Polka shows for the studio. Thank you.

I'm not polish but have enjoyed listening to Saturday morning polka jam and Sunday's polka show for years and I just can't believe Saturday's show is off the air I wish I could talk to the committee who decided this.I'll just have to listen to other channels and boycott wmua Too bad

I have been a listener of WMUA Polka music for years. Please don't diminish the opportunity for so many loyal and supportive fans to connect with their cultural roots.

A tree can only grow if it's roots continue to grow. UMUA and UMASS seem to have forgotten its roots. Roots with the community that have been an integral part of the success of the station since its inception. We've all heard the phrase, Change is good but I would like to offer a slight variation to that phrase by saying, "Not all change is good". It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that there is a shift in the agenda of UMUA and UMASS. Though not necessarily a bad thing I will point out a major shift from it's roots as a combined student and community run station. It is amazing how people and organizations can forget their mission statement. Dismissing the community piece of the equation will certainly have long term effects on the station which may not prove beneficial to the growth and diversity of the station. WE all need to remember our roots...otherwise the tree which has been growing just becomes a stump. The roots support the tree not the other way around.

Saturday morning polkas are a Pioneer Valley mainstay! Here at Mountain Road Flower Farm in Holyoke I'm worried this years flowers wont be as bright if polka music isn't heard in the field on Saturday morning!

When I was a UMASS student in 1973-1975, I worked as a volunteer for WMUA as sport/news and statistician for the basketball games. I listen to WMUA often on line. I love the station. I also listen on Saturday and Sunday to the polkas and this is perfect, when most of the students are sleeping, we can polka. LEAVE THE POLKA ON!

Please keep the Polkas alive I've been listening to wmua with my mom and dad nowy children are listening to the polkas on wmua and my Son just had a baby Girl Olivia Sophia We _wo u ld like the tradition to carry on I as well as my family are so so sad to hear of this Please keep POLKAS alive! :) Thank you Barbara

IT'S A SHAME THAT THE LIVE POLKA SHOWS ARE BEING REPLACED BY SOME TAPED SHOWS BY STUDENTS--LIVE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN TAPES- BUT TO TAKE AWAY SHOWS THAT ARE BEING ENJOYED BY SO MANY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD AND BY SUCH A SHODDY WAY DOES NOT LOOK WELL CONCERNING TH E COLLEGE--IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF THE POLKA SHOWS WERE DOING BADLY--BUT THEY HAVE A HUGE FOLLOWING----SHAME, SHAME UMASS!!!!!!!!!

Polka music is the happiest music on earth. With all that polka fans have done to support WMUA over many years, to cut the programming is unwarranted. Should be increasing the hours~!
