24 hours of community programming for a community station?? Perhaps WMUAs licensing needs to be examined more closely.

The people or person(s) making this decision must be out of their minds. Why would they shoot the goose that lays them the golden egg.

I am personally upset to learn of this action. I listen to the polka broadcast via simulcasts through the polkajammernetwork. This is a direct attack on Polish heritage and all who enjoy polka. This ethnic cleansing must STOP! I understand that the station is primarily for students to learn the craft of DJ/radio personality work and it should be; however, these off hours programs do not interfere with students. Students do not listen to the programing on any network on weekend mornings. The vast majority are sleeping! The few active students are doing other activities and not worried about listening to the WMUA broadcasts. Moreover, students who would want to do a weekend morning show would be far a few between. I am quite certain the potential DJs would prefer evening and week day. The administration needs to look more deeply into the students needs. Taking morning shows on the weekend is not one of them. In addition, the complete removal of Billy Belina's show is an outrage! He has been on WUMA since the 70's. He brings in guests to do your money making events and polka brings in a significant amount of money for WMUA. Remove two thirds of the polka programing and you will loose the majority of your income. Polka loves will not support your efforts as they have done in the past. Please rethink your actions and keep polka as it is on WMUA Sincerely Eddie Biegaj

This would be a loss of a great program

I have been listening to polkas on the weekends for well over 25 years and know plenty of others in the farming community who do the same. I for one do not change the channel once the Polkas are over and have enjoyed the ensuing shows as well to the point that I end up listening to MUA all weekend. Due to already instituted schedule changes I have been changing the channel much sooner and, if polkas go away I will not be interested in your channel at all anymore.

Have a heart for the Polish music listening community

Love listening to my polkas on Saturday morning. Billy Belina is the best, entertaining. I live in CA so I get him early. Saturday is not Saturday without Billy.

Please keep Polka music alive. It's the best part of the weekend and keeps us going.
