Have been a faithful listener of polkas on WMUA for decades. It offers the best to those who love their heritage and music.
Don't forget, there are people out there that are not computer savy or have computers and depend on their radios for entertainment.
What a travesty for all those who have been faithful listeners and financial contributors for many many years. What a kick in the pants for all those who love polka music. There are 156 hours in the week for the station to play what ever they want, keep the 12 hours of polka music alive for your dedicated listeners!!
You drop the 8 hours of polka music a week, you lose a large financial chunk of money from those who have supported your station for 36 years.
Now try to obtain that kind of financial support (nearly one half a million dollars ) from your college students and local listeners from your other programs. In no time you will not be able to support your own radio station!

This community service is vital. If WMUA is going to phase this out, I would happily take my listenership to any other radio station.

As a grad student at UMass and later as an employee, I fully enjoyed listening to Billy Belina. My family and I are planning to move to the area later this year and I will sorely miss the show if cancelled. Please keep it on the air!

Disgusting and inconsiderate! Apparently, the money received from the telethons weren't
Sufficient. Ya know guys, we don't need them. Put The MUA IJ's on polka jammer. You could use the telethon money. If I win the lottery, I will have ya on Sirius. Promise!

I don't listen to this polka show as it is not near my location, however I strongly believe radio stations need to keep the few polka shows there still are in this great country. Polka is great music, what is even greater is seeing young people hear polka for the first time, and seeing them dancing and singing. Keep it going folks!

What a disgrace it is to cut polka music from WMUA. After all the hard work and dedication these DJ's have given to this radio station over the past 36 years. If it wasn't for them you wouldn't have all the equipment upgrades that everyone enjoys now! Including the UMass students. PLEASE RESTORE POLKAS BACK TO 12 PLUS HOURS!!!!!

Please keep the original 12 hours of polka music on the air. Obviously it has had a good following all these years. It would be a shame to disappoint your loyal listeners.

Who will promote WMUA during the fund raising? Polka fans have contributed over half of the total donations! Who will sponsor the new programs? What students will be up at the crack of dawn to man the station like Todd, Billy, Mitch and Helen do? We can't let the management dissolve 35 years of Polka music!
Keep the Polka programs!!
Please listen to all who enjoy the music
