Please keep the Polka shows going, they are one of the only ethic programs Polish people have in the area. It appears other than Polish people enjoy the show as well. Students could produce and do other things for the shows if you want training/learning experiences for the students. Frank is an Alumni of UMass.

WMUA needs to understand they are a public radio station and they should serve the public. There is no good reason to reduce the hours that the Polka Weekend Block is broadcast.

Its a shame to lose such a cultural treasure. The music and traditions including food and lore this past Christmas season will be missed by many along with the listings of the many local events in the listening area. Listening to Billy B and Ernie is like being with old friends and will be missed.

A sad day for polka music & all ethnic music. The polish listeners all around the nation support these shows not only with their ears but with their pocket books/donations. I'm sure those dollars will no longer be available for the university station. Hats off to the dedicated DJ's for their service. I'm sure you'll find a new home! Mike Evan.

Cancelling a long successfully running show is not the answer. This show has been a supporter of U-Mass and the Polish community for decades. This is not a way you treat the community that supports you. I've been an advertiser on the Polka Show for many years. This is bad form U-Mass!! Mitch Cichy Cichy's Garage Williamsburg, MA 01096

This is unbelievable news for the Polish community and friends. We don't have another local Polish music station to listen to. We've been listening since the beginning.

As a UMASS alumni I find this short sighted; as a Pole, born of this valley I find this disturbing and insulting. The Polka Bandstand show is a cultural treasure, cancelling this show is a decision best made by people who have an understanding of this history of this valley, and an appreciation for the legacy of this show. This is about the stupidest decision management could have made for this radio station, and it will resonate long past the tenure of the current decision makers.

Sad to see this happen. I look forward to Saturday and Sunday mornings for polka music. I now listen on the Internet. Since leaving the area.
