Although I am not of Polish decent, this is my favorite music. I have been listening to polish music since I was old enough to have my own radio. Please do not take any of them off the air..It's happy music and good to do your work to.

WMUA is only hurting themselves. They are not only losing listeners and financial supporters but advertisers. Who will advertise when the listeners that have money to spend are not listening any more.

It is a tragic mistake to take away and/or minimize polka music on WMUA. Community consideration is being ignored and it is a very large error. Please reconsider.

What was once a great radio station has been ruined over the past year by the descions that have been made there regarding programing. The polkas shows not only have a local listening audience but also a national and international audience. Without polka programing WMUA would not have three new studios or the most modern broadcasting equipment. People who donated $24,000 during the Polka-thon's last fund drive should demand their money back. Please return the polka show to their full and deserved time slots.

Cutting off the community connection is perfect for a generation that lives with its nose buried in its smartphones. My greatest disappointment, however, is with the UMass administration -- which ducked and covered throughout. I still have the CD of polka music I received from WMUA some years ago for contributing. But I'm never sending WMUA another dime. I'll send that money to WXOJ instead.

What a shame and an insult to the Polish community.The Polish listeners have been responsible with their generosity in creating WMUA. Please reconsider and don't bite off the hand that feeds you.

I share with many thousands the deep frustration with the University's process in dismissing and discrediting the essential community engagement that ALL community programming has given to the entended UMASS and local/regional community.
It's clear that you've been clearly informed by countless voices that this is the case.
Your decision process rivals the deeply destructive outcome of the cancelling of the community programming including the polka programming. I am especially dismayed at the cancellation of Focus, and the many local music programs that inform us of ongoing music and arts events as well as providing an amazing source of Americana and World music programming.
The ongoing effort to restore this programming won't end just because you believe that our goal of resolving this to this community's satisfaction will in time diminish and result in acceptance and silence.
WE are YOUR Family and we won't tire of asserting our legitimate right to be included in WMUA's programming.

This programming is an attribute to the institution, the station and the community. It's also a huge donation/fund raising generator and has been for decades. There's a fine balance to community programming and student programming. We as tax payers deserve a right to voice our opinions on a subject such as this.
