My Mom will be turning 91 this month and the highlight of the week is listening to polka music on Sunday. This will be a huge loss for the Polish community.

I enjoy this wonderful music every weekend. A welcome change for me on the weekends to a type of music important to my ethnic background.

We wish you well in this important cultural endeavor. Our 6 and 8 year old grandchildren love to listen to the show on the weekends. They will be disappointed.

WMUA is a longstanding treasured community and cultural resource in the Pioneer Valley. While training students is one of its important missions, it should NOT be treated as a mere "student hobby activity" by transient undergraduates.

I'm a faithful listener to these heritage rich programs on the Internet through Polkajammer. Removing these shows is a HUGE mistake and I hope that the station management sees this before it's too late and all of the generous monetary donations from the Polish community dries up. Please reconsider this bad move and reinstate the full polka show schedule and while you're at it, bring back the Celtic show too.

As a UMass alum, I am against the recent reduction of polka programming. This is an unsound decision by a few people who are not considering all the contributions by community members to WMUA. UM students come and go, but this polka programming has been a solid component of the radio station, especially the huge financial support. Please reverse this poor decision and reinstate the polka programming.
