Keep Piedmont, Wayne County Missouri Wal-Mart Open!

I want my walmart to stay open! Don't do it, don't leave!!

This is all these small towns have, people love this small town store.

I really don't see how they can close down one of the main places for our town that offers good employment opportunities. Us being a summer community our Wal-mart is where everyone goes to get the items they need while camping at our local lake. This will devastate our community losing our Wal-Mart.

My grandma lives in this town and my grandpa passed away a few years ago. Without the Walmart she would have to go othere places to buy food and such and possibly move. I wouldnot want that because that place holds many memories.

Piedmont needs this Walmart! This store is a huge asset to the people in this community. I had the pleasure of working at this Walmart for 4.5 years. Many of the people that I worked with still work there. I'm very concerned for them, their families, and the customers that they serve. Please reconsider this decision and all of the lives that will be affected.

This has been a great store for many years with new improvements every year. Many customers love to shop at the Piedmont store. Please keep this store open.

Piedmont and the surrounding areas need this store.

Not only does this affect the workers that are employed by Walmart but others, like myself that inventory this specific Walmart.

I dont live in piedmont, but my relatives do and ive visited and gone to this store its nice and the people are nice. They need this store.

It wasn't long ago that Wal-Mart was trying to purchase the property on Hwy 34, I believe where the Nazarene Church is now located or just next to it, to build a Super Wal-Mart. Everyone in our surrounding area was so excited thinking we were going to get a Super Wal-Mart. This would have brought in a lot more business to our area. Especially during the fishing, hunting and camping seasons as tourist come in from out of town. Not sure why this decision fell through the cracks, but I for one believe Wal-Mart should reconsider this option. There is property that is now available from the late Ola Rayfield which is less then a mile from where Wal-Mart is now located right on Hwy 34. I am totally opposed to Wal-Mart closing there doors in Piedmont Mo. We live in Annapolis Missouri and I work in Ironton Missouri, so I rarely go to Piedmont, but my husband works in Piedmont everyday and I send him to Wal-Mart a whole lot just to pick up stuff we need. He has a landscape business and buys a lot of potting soil, mulch and other planting merchandise in the spring and summer months because it is handy and he doesn't have time to drive an hour and fifteen minutes to Poplar Bluff to get it. If Piedmont had a Super Wal-Mart I would be going there more often myself. We now have a Dollar General Store in Annapolis and if a town of 468 can support it, I would think that a town of 2243 plus all the tourist could support Wal-Mart. The residents rely on Wal-Mart to get their medications, and things that cannot be purchased at the grocery store, which also brings up another comment. Wal-Mart just remodeled this store and added food items, produce, etc. Why would you have spent all this money to better the store in the first place, if the store was not making any money? Sounds like someone doesn't know what they are doing? Maybe you need to replace some employees doing book figures who obviously have made some wrong decisions. Not trying to sound rude or belittle anyo

This is serious for those of us whom live an hour away from other shopping opportunities, take your idiocy elsewhere!

Please don't leave piedmont. We need or Walmart desperatly

Walmart should be ashamed for even considering this closure. The close Piedmont Walmart, I close my account with them, that simple!

Please keep Wal Mart open here nin Piedmont,Mo, we need you, When you came in we had several businesses, now they are gone, could not compete with Wal Mart, now you want to leave and leave us in worse situation, so many people cannot get out of town to shop,and they don't have money to buy gas to go.to some other town to shop, and what about the pharmacy?, we depend on it, It is so sad, like a death. What I don't understand is,I know Fredericktown is just 15 mins apart from Farmington and they both have Wal Mart stores, Jackson is about 15mins from Cape Girardeau they both have WalMart stores and here we are 1 hr to get to the closest WalMart and at least 1-1/2-2hrs to get to the other stores, now why is it that you can have places where there are stores within 15 mins of each other!! and yet you have made the decision to bring hardship on people who have supported you, who have $$$$ in your pockets. I for one and others will probably go to K Mart and support them since you obviously don't want our support any longer!

This is Piedmont's only chance! Please get everybody you know to sign it. There are people who literally depend on this Walmart for survival. The workers need these jobs the community need this chance. I can't stress how tragic this will be!

There are at least 5 surrounding towns that depend on the Piedmont Walmart. Not the least of which is Piedmont, and the millions of tourists that visit Clearwater Lake each year. Without it, the closest one to us is an hour away, and not all people can travel to another city to shop. There are many items that Walmart carries that would no longer be available to us and would cause a hardship! Please reconsider closing this store for the benefits it offers our communities. Thank you!
