Please don't close this store, it is used by so many, especially in the summer when all the tourists come through and visit Clearwater Lake. It is a essential and valuable asset to the community.

After putting smaller businesses out of business, Walmart is closing? Really? The people of Piedmont really need the jobs and the tourist have come to depend on Walmart for a lot of their needs when visiting Clearwater Lake!

You cannot convince me that this location is not profitable. It is always busy. It may not be "super sized" but it is vital for our community. 75 jobs in a small community is devastating and it is a great loss for our shopping needs.

Why on earth would you close this store? I have never been in the store when it wasn't full of shoppers! It has to be profitable. If it is not profitable for some reason, you need to figure out the problem and correct it--not close the store. There is no legitimate reason this store would not make money because it is the only general merchandise store in the community and surrounding area. It is a critical supplier for local residents and for tourists and rail workers who visit Piedmont.

Not only does Walmart help our small town economy by providing jobs and opportunity, but it supports our local school system. As a teacher at our local elementary, I fear for our students and the impact that our school district faces. Walmart does so much for our needy students, but also for our school as a whole. Their generosity and love are much needed in our small town. I am thinking of the countless number of students whose families are going to be facing financial hardship as a result of this closing, those that can't relocate or can't transfer for less pay. I think about number of students with medical problems that have prescriptions filled at the pharmacy and it makes my heart hurt for them and their family. Not to mention the elderly that have to arrange transportation to get to our Walmart. They don't have the means to travel an hour to fill much needed medication. This decision to close the doors is heartbreaking for our hometown. It should weigh heavy on the conscience and emotions of those involved in the decision making. People are depending on these doors staying open to our local residents.
