This little community desperately needs the continuing presence of Wal-Mart, especially because so many of our citizens are elderly and have neither the transportation nor the energy to travel 50 miles one way for their necessities. It is unconscionable to remove this store after working to make our citizenry dependent upon it.

Unfair to this little community - reasoning for closing must be associated with the profit - The almighty dollar always seems to be the reason behind such a change. What 'Not enough profit'? This community supported you why can you not support this community! Is there no heart in the decision???? Please rethink this decision!

Walmart will devestate this town if they leave me. Why would you abandon such a loyal customer base? Benevolence starts with those you serve. Have a heart! It is smart for business. We live in BridgetonM

For people living in Annapolis, we would have to drive 40mins to get to a walmart. Not to mention the jobs it offers for people in the local area.. We need this Walmart please re-sign your lease...

Piedmont is such a small town and so many people depend on that Walmart. I think this is a situation of someone in a corporate office looking at numbers that's never even been to this town. Maybe if they see the amount of people that care, they will reconsider.

The town of Piedmont relies on walmart for more than just goods for the community, it provides people employment in a very poor county, it provides tourist revenue, and it provides 30% revenue for the town. The town can't afford to be out of the revenue or for 78 people to lose their jobs. A lot of the residents does not have the financial means or reliable vehicle to drive the 45 minutes required to reach Poplar Bluff for essential items. Please reconsider the closing of walmart, you are closing more than a store, you would be closing the town and the people.
