A disgusting decision, the person who has made this decision should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Disgusting decision - please consider your actions ECC. This is a much loved small local business that has worked hard to survive throughout a pandemic only to be closed down due to your greed!

Phoebe's Pantry has become such a well loved part of the Riverside community over the last 4 years and should be allowed to continue with their small business venture.

Support the local business, they have made something out of nothing they deserve to have the support of ECC. The community want it to stay!

Devastated to hear the news about what ECC are doing to Phoebe’s Pantry, no support given to local businesses, very sad.

Always good to have a cup of tea and piece of cake after a walk. Why are ECC messing up what the community want?

This is a much loved and integral part of our local community. We cannot allow Essex County Council to price them out of the market. Outrageous!!

This has been the best thing to come into the town In a long time, a great spot for the community to gather before enjoying the river. I strongly believe this business should be supported and encouraged to continue not deterred.

Dear Councillor I have been signposted to you with regard to the decision to effectively put Phoebe’s Pantry out of business. I wanted the chance to explain why this cannot be allowed to happen. Our small town is a close knit community and we have supported this small fledgling business from its start almost 4 years ago. It’s more than a small business to us in the town- it was a small dream of a young girl that we all cheered on to success. Collectively as a town , we have all enjoyed the treats but it’s the camaraderie, community spirit, and togetherness that this small business symbolises. In the last few years, we have all suffered immeasurable difficulties through the pandemic and Phoebe’s pantry was there for us to bond over cake and coffee and treats for our pooches but mostly we were able to meet up with friends and family and enjoy the river. Our local Facebook page is filled with so many messages like mine - we all feel incredibly protective of this business and the simple joy it brings to so many of us. Please come down and see for yourself what this adds to our community - bring your partner or a friend and see for yourself. I urge you to do the right thing and act in the interests of a small but close community and protect this lovely business. They really deserve the support and we need them in our town. With kind regards Mrs Vicky Hull Local resident Senco teacher at St Joseph’s school

This is awful! Please don’t let ECC put the cost of hiring their pitch up. SWF need them. They provide such joy to our community!!

Why shut down a thriving business that everyone enjoys? It's outrageous, undemocratic and, frankly, suspicious.

You’ve got to be joking about shutting out a vital member of the community. Your clearly not in touch with how we all feel about Phoebe’s. Let her stay and don’t be so insensitive to the towns needs and the tax payers.
