Unless the permit scheme prevents people parking after 8 I don't see the point

Bringing in permit parking will not solve the problems of parking in this area. However, it will increase each household's expenditure by a considerable amount and with no benefit. Hollingdean is a collaborative, communal and friendly living area. Let's keep it as such!

Parking is so difficult when I come home late at night at the moment, this will only make it worse!

We don't need Permit Parking when we have enough free daytime parking.

Hollingdean Terrace resident, no need for restrictions when night time is the problem

This would be a terrible idea with no benefit to residents returning home late for work...plus I have no spare money to pay for a permit each year...just lining the pockets of the council!!!!

I find I have no problem parking either close to, or a short walking distance from home in Hollingdean Terrace. I have already voted no in the previous poll and will maintain that view.

The parking situation in and around Hollingdean Terrace is not as bad as supposed, most times parking is found close to home. When having to sometimes park a distance from home is a small irritation, but walking what is a relative short distance to home isn't really a problem. One of my concerns is, if parking enforcement was introduced in Hollingdean is, those that work for City Clean and other local businesses in the area, would be denied a free parking facility. Also, it must be remembered that those staff working for City Clean start early and public transport does not necessarily suit their travel requirements, nor will the added expense of parking fees. As already stated, a permit does not guarantee a space outside your door or any benefit from the Council, but just adds unnecessary cost to your outgoings.

We do not need or want permit parking in Hollingdean.Even in the streets in question it is easier to park here than in other areas where parking permits have already been introduced.Parking permits will cost us all a lot of money & WE DONT NEED OR WANT THEM.

Enough bills without adding more! When people have more than 1 car per household this adds pressure on parking spaces.

I agree that we should not have resident parking, but I do think that something should be done about people parking on the corner of the streets dangerously

Well done for standing up for free parking in Holingdean. 90% of us have already voted to keep it free. Once we lose this right, we will never ever get it back. Hollingdean as a whole has voted to keep it free and if one area proceeds with resident parking it impacts adversely on the rest of us, resulting in yet another tax we shouldn't have to pay.

Permit parking will remove the long term parkers (commercial vans, motorhomes etc) by people outside the area. Like the parkers described a few comments ago (Shaws Glass van and their Alfa from outside the area who take up a space by switching around and leaving one permanently parked as described below). If these groups go, there will be more spaces for people who live in the neighbourhood I agree we shouldn't have to pay for permits - there is scope within the huge profits that the council makes to reduce prices and make free for some low income groups. Perhaps this should be the focus?

They introduced a parking scheme in Hanover after years of resistance, and now the parking situation there is terrible. will be sharing
