Stop trying to change things that's have worked perfectly for years!!!! The whole point is doing it at night is so the lights will shine bright for all the small children to enjoy!!! If it's during me and my family will no longer attend Bc that's just pathetic...

I no longer live in Oneonta but I do still have little great nieces that do. From my first year to reside in Oneonta until I moved away in 2003, I never missed an Oneonta Christmas Parade. The parade was always at night!!!! Some years the weather was mild and other years it was freezing, but no matter which way, we always found a good spot to watch from and we enjoyed the lights, the high school bands, the floats that took hours and hours to assemble, the noise of the firetrucks and police cars with the sirens,and the excitement of the children as they scrambled to pick up candy that was tossed their way! This was the night that the city came to life with laughter and noise and little children's eyes sparkled in the dark as they enjoyed the twinkling lights. So please don't take this tradition away from the children and yes even the adults. Just to quote from others comments, "If it ain't broke then don't try to fix it". Just my opinion!

Keep the parade at night. You can’t see all the lights from the fire trucks and the Santa float at the end when it’s in the daytime.

I don’t understand why even if you want to have an all day event with activities, etc...you could have an all day/afternoon event and still hold the parade at night. Obviously, so many people care about this. You should probably listen to these people. Please pay attention to the petition and all the people expressing their opinion about it.

Just won’t be the same during the night. You can’t see the lights. Keep the tradition. Night parade through the week. Only way to have it.
