This served as a monument to the young men in grey that never returned to their loved ones. This was the only thing those mothers, wives, sister and fathers had to remember the sacrifice of their sons whom many they never heard from or saw again. Please leave our town's history alone!!

Heritage, not hate!!! It's been there for a century and offended absolutely nobody. Now, it's suddenly offensive?? Wake up folks. This is no longer about race or police brutality. It's about altering/erasing history and spreading a marxist ideaology. Don't be blinded by propaganda!

I have lived in Newton county my whole life and the statue is the center piece on the square. It is Newton country and needs to stay right we’re it is.
