Today it’s statues and tomorrow they’re taking your right to worship away. This is history and we can’t change that. Please stand and don’t be afraid to speak up!

Leave our statue alone. It is history, and you cannot erase the history of our country.

Destroying statues and monuments won't change History but leaving them we can discuss that history (the good, the bad and the ugly).

Those who choose to ignore their history are doomed to repeat it. The only people threatened by statues are the ignorant.

The monument on the Covington square matters in ways that need to be remembered. Sitting with my grandfather on the bench, while my grandmother shopped at Cohen's. Our talks always began with remembering our fallen fathers and brothers. Our talks always took the path of my grandfather teaching me the importance of unity to the degree that we as a people are worth fighting for. I was taught that "we", equates to "all". The presumptions of another who desires to battle my personal definition of "we"... is not a valid excuse to erase treasured teaching moments of my life.

Families set these Monuments on the square with permission. Nothing I’ve read on them is racist, against America, and states they didn’t fight that war with a mercenary spirit. They have a right to have a say, when the writers of history wrote and promoted untruths about their family members that fought in that war. Nothing written on that statute is anything else. You may as well rip up the monuments Of peoples children all over our highways That were killed. Do you have the guts to do it? Take this monument up and you will do the same thing. Black men fought on the side of the South, think they were fighting to prolong slavery? Every thing I’ve read and interview I’ve heard of Confederate Soldiers said they didn’t fight to prolong it. So a bunch of people that have never studied history, and others with malicious motives want it down because of racism and slavery. Show proof it represents either. Stand for facts or be guilty of bias and bigotry. Don Cason.
