To the people who want to tear down the History of America, many men fought for our freedom and our Country and many lost their lives for that ! You can try all you want to try to change History, but you will never change the facts and Heroism from these times ! Most of us are proud to be an American and have learned from our History! Quit trying to destroy all that was fought for! America needs to stand up and fight for our beloved Country and be proud of who we are and what we stand for!

I do not agree with the statues being taken down. It is history and the buttercups that are being affended by it need to read up on there history.

I love our town and it's history. The statue is part of our history. Let's keep moving forward, learning lessons from history. If our history is erased our growth may regress, because it will be repeated. We have come so close to be one town in one country. We all are Covington Ga. We all are American citizens and we all care for one another. Don't let a sudden hatred tear us apart.

It would be nice to see the preservation of the statute, while also adding some type of monument to celebrate someone from Newton County who helped with Civil Rights or contributed in a positive way for the betterment of the community. Do not destroy history, learn, grow and add to it, in the most positive way.

The statue on the square is very important to the people of Newton County and should remain where it is. It is to honor those who fought for us. It is not to glorify hate. It is history and you can’t destroy history. We have a historical district in our town and and we should be allowed to have our historical monument. Please do not remove it!
