I experience this same situation. She has build relationships with teachers and students. And who thinking about the children. Start promoting competent people in positions that they deserve.

MPS Administration should honor local school control instead of hiring new candidates from outside the district.

We are in a global pandemic. I don’t know what school for children is going to look like in the fall but it’s definitely going to look different and there’s definitely going to be drastic changes to the way children are educated as we know it. There is NO REASON for an unnecessary change of removing a wonderful principal from a school where she has built connections and relationships with staff members, students, and families. Everyone is already dealing with enough trauma and students returning to school is fall are definitely going to be dealing with trauma too... let’s not add one more thing to everyone’s already over-flowingly burdened plate.

I was a teacher in MPS for over 30 years (retired) and I can say unequivocally that Ms. Herring is the best administrator I have had the privilege of working with. She is incredibly smart, hard working, and well respected. She made me want to always do my best. She is firm but fair with all stake holders. If she wants to stay at LCA, it would be a huge mistake to let her go. MPS is lucky to have Ms. Herring. She is an asset wherever she is. Don’t do the typical MPS move and misuse your best and brightest. LCA couldn’t be in more capable hands.

What better time than now for our schools our children to have a transparent, instructional leader. I fully support NeBritt Herring as being this leader at Lincoln School of the Arts. NeBritt is a phenomenal instructional leader who sets the bar high for our inner city youth. She does does not sit back and delegate she is in the trenches with her staff, families and our children. She has a relationship with the community. She active in the community. The city of Milwaukee is desperately pleading for real leadership in our inner city schools. NeBritt is that leader for Lincoln Center of the Arts. She has planted many seeds and she definitely know what it will take for Lincoln to become one of the top schools city wide. She is a great Asset to Lincoln Center of the Arts.

No one better for the job than Nebritt L. Herring. I have seen her in action in that building. Moving her would be a disservice to both students and staff, especially during a pandemic.

Please allow the valuable staff and student relationships Ms Herring has developed since she arrived at Lincoln Center of the Arts to continue. It isn’t often that a person of her caliber is at the head of a school such as LCA, and the students and teachers all deserve to have her stay in the position for which she is so qualified and appreciated.
