Tonight, 10-20-16, PB R-1 board members will decide if a resource officer is to be kept or removed from the Poplar Bluff Middle School campus. Please let your board members know that we want to continue to ensure the safety of our children with an on campus officer. Not only does a present officer deter any would-be intruders and give immediate access, but it also builds morale between the children, police department, and community.

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum building behind this effort. Seeing so many people care about the safety of these students reminds me that this is entirely down to the community showing up. Thank you for keeping this moving.

As a teacher at PBMS I feel he has made a huge impact on our campus! The kids love him and he also helps out a lot with misbehavior or anything he can.
Was there an officer at 5/6 center last year? How long will it be before they no longer go to Bacon Park for recess? Are the security locks in place at the doors yet w a buzzer system? I definitely think they need a resource officer until these things are met.
We manage to find the money and provide for a large number of things that may only effect a certain number of students. A resource officer benefits our student body as a whole.
My daughter and her friends have been talking about officer Kenny since the beginning of school. They feel he is easy to talk to. If they felt unsafe at school they would have no problem telling him. They feel safer with him there. I believe everyone has the safety of the kids as their first priority. I support an officer at school.
The officer's presence is the only reason I'm somewhat comfortable with my child being taken to Bacon park for recess daily.
My husband and I are in favor of keeping a Resource Officer Employee at the Poplar Bluff, MO Middle School Campus.
I work at poms and I think it's a great idea to keep one! The school is too big not to have one

I will feel safer Always with an officer in place at my grandsons' middle school. Violence starts at even these tender ages as we've seen in the past & predators/ evildoers can surface anywhere.
