Keep Monmouthshire leisure centres and museums under public control

Our libraries have been and continues to be the jewel in the crown, and needs to be protected against losing its services and value to the Monmouthshire people.

I believe the proposal is to transfer, leisure services, countryside, museums, youth service, outdoor pursuits, tourism, Caldicot castle, old station Tintern and events into an organisation of its own, partly a trust, partly a charity and partly a private trading arm. Principally I am against this form of privatisation, however in this current austerity climate, and the very real financial issues that come with that, from what I have seen, the savings that can be gained by undertaking this action when compared to keeping things as they are, are enough to warrant the move. There will be a decision made in the next couple of months by elected members on whether to move to this alternative model or transform in house, full reports on this should also be available to the public, although I'm not sure of what date has been set at the moment.

Keep these public assets under public control. They should not be privatised.

We need to keep these under the roof of the council's so the people of the town's can still get great service.

The pool and facilities are part of the amenities of the town. They promote wellbeing and community. Please do not privatise a public asset.

Listen to the people off Monmouthshire for once instead off your parties self interests

Monmouth is losing out to Abergavenny and Chepstow and has already lost out to Newport by selling out to big business concerns.

Another case of again selling the family silver.

If privatised they will only be there to make a profit for the shareholders. MCC: PLEASE DON'T!

Transferring these services to profit making companies is a scandal

These facilities should be kept under Public Control

My health would suffer if the prices were to increase as I have membership cheaper through doctor

We need to retain our public services, Why does the taxpayer pass on our public services to private sector to charge for profit, ?Are the masses to blame for Austerity.Have we already forgot the banking Crisis of 2008/

No to privatisation, this is a service for local people and not another piece of equity to be sold of for sort term gain.

These are valuable services and need to be fairly administered by the local authority not a for profit company. Privatisation would spell disaster for these services.

Certain areas in Monmouthshire are NOT affluent and therefore need these services to remain public.
