Yes. Kids 12 and under should wear masks and they she at least continue to do what they did last year when they were face to face. Space out the kids.

I do believe that masks should be mandated & try to keep the children at a social distance. The children bring home the variant to their other family members & possibly their senior family members.

I’m not in Walled Lake District. But all districts should have the kids wear masks, until they can get shots.

Covid will always find a host, whether it’s the unvaccinated or our children. It’s not a game.

It is the school district's duty, in the absence of federal and state leadership, to ensure the safety and well-being of every single student, staff member, and their families. It is unconscionable for the district to ignore the last 17 months, to ignore the deaths of over 600k people in the U.S., by not implementing basic safety measures to attempt to keep students, staff, and their families safe. The message the district is sending by not implementing basic safety and mitigation strategies to all parties involved is that there will be an ACCEPTABLE number of hospitalizations and deaths. The question is, what is that number? How many hospitalizations and deaths is WLSD willing to commit to?

Not only do the wearing of masks allow for a safer environment for EVERYONE, it's also removes the social stigmatism of kids with masks vs kids without masks calling each other out for one side or the other and causing further social/emotional issues. My daughter is 15. She was virtual all last year. This is her first year IN the high school and I don't want her to 'stick out' because she is wearing a mask where maybe many others aren't and get called out for it......kids can unfortunately be very cruel and will find any reason to pick on someone else. Let's take away this option by requiring everyone wear masks.....it isn't hurting anyone to do so.
