This is a monument for soldiers who fought and died to protect Burke county. There is no need for its removal.

Please don't destroy our statues and our monuments. Every thing is not about slavery. Pray for the slaves of today, White, Hispanic , Asian, Blacks, and other races that are being held today, and not necessarily by one race, but by all races enslaving each other.
Burke county, be the backbone and have backbone that I know you posess. I lived there 68 years.

Please leave our Confederate memorial statue in place! Everyone can find something to be offended about if you try. This has been a part of our community all my life and now it has suddenly become an offensive landmark. Don't cave to trendy issues.
