Stayed in Acle when I was a child. Loved the ice cream from Co-op. Convenient for villagers.

I do NOT think the heart of our village needs to be dominated by an undertakers at this site. I'm sure the shop would still thrive with the larger store open

Local village Coop. Stores are so important especially for the older community and young mothers who find it difficult to travel to do their shopping. Please keep this much needed local resource.

I strongly support the petition to keep the Co-op Store on The Green in Acle. This 'invaluable community asset' is so important for the older and infirm members of the community. Ken Leggett

An insult to destroy the aesthetics of our wonderful village focal point

Whilst I realise the commercial situation I respect the co op for their use of local suppliers and hope they will listen to local people in this case.

l also hate the idea of such a big shop and focal point being turned into a funeral directors. How awful for holiday makers too - the iconic Acle sign area, l love seeing people sit there and at times on the grass having a picnic. Sadly my Mum passed away two weeks ago, it's been an extremely stressful time, and the very thought of the COOP being a funeral directors where Mum loved to shop too, just depresses me and makes me feel anxious. Right in the heart of our village - the hub where we all walk and drive past - not nice for the cafe or salon either or discrete for the funeral directors custom. Think the street needs to remain cheerful, something should go in there that everyone can use and enjoy not something that we want to put our heads down or fear looking at. Horrible l personally at this present time cannot bare the thought. These are my honest views, and I'm sure many others feel the same. I feel for the older generation too and the difficulties they may face from the closure. Many thanks.

Centre of village will become an isolated place.

Let us hope that this trial will be a way for both the business interests and the local community needs to find a good solution

This shop is literally at the heart of the village and needs to remain open at least for a trial period otherwise the important social aspect of the shop will be lost. Replacement of a vital shop by a funeral parlour in the centre of a village is rather insensitive to the elderly of Acle and doesn't sit well with me either. The Co-op is not a charity but surely it's ethical base should suggest that the old shop remain open for a bit longer at least.

What is there to lose by having both shops open for a period of time to see if there is a business case for keeping both shops open.

This is a valuable asset that due to it's location should remain open.

Please keep this valued co-op open in the heart of Acle, it is used by so many young and old.

I'm sure that Acle could sustain 2 branches of the Co-Op especially as the current shop is so close to homes for the elderly & less able.

I definitely think it should be kept open! There is so much need for it... the elderly people from this end of the village... school children-its a meeting social point for children after school. I live this side of the village and use the coop at least 3-4 times a week!! ITS A MUST!!!
