Reaching this point has been a long and draining process. Seeing so many people agree that these alleyways belong to us keeps me going when I feel like packing it in.

Why close them these are easy access ways for everyone. They should also be more user friendly with nice art work, typical Council......
Our babies walk to and from school in the morning through these alleyways especially the alleyway that goes from pine drive to matai street ! A few residents moan and the wider community suffer
Why have the gates? If so, then there should be consultation with the community about them. Particularly opening and closing them during the day so tāmaki and the elderly can use these access ways.
Those alley ways are easier access for the elderly to walk to the shops etc Especially if they aint as strong as thet use to be Now they gotta walk further just to get to where they going,For young children to get to school,Now they gotta walk further just to get to school and back home again aint alley ways made for public use so y shut them down.
Yes, I live on oregon and my bestfriend lives on kauri! I'm soo use to using the alleyway because it literally only takes 30 seconds. Today i had to walk right around just to pop in. I go over there 24/7 so keeping the alleyway open is really good. I wont have to walk past the dogs or anything!

I think the alley ways should be kept open because many people in the town use them, a lot of our children use them to go to school, and also our elderly people too. It enables people to cut down their time in making it to their destinations and I don't think they should be taken away from us just because there are a few people that can't pick up their rubbish, or are too loud, or who start fights.
