As a consumer, I expect "organic" to mean grown with an understanding of the careful balanced relationship between people, our food, and the environment. Hydroponics is NOT what I'm looking for in "organic" and I don't want to pay for hydroponically grown produce. If you dilute the brand "organic" to include hydroponics, you will destroy all credibility for "organic"

Certified organic farmer since 1997[pre usda] and since 2002 under USDA.
Hydroponics have no place in soil based agriculture or as a certified organic product. Give them their own label not the one organic farmers have and are working so hard to preserve.

As a gardener and consumer, I want to grow and eat food that has been raised with the utmost care and intention-- that it is grown in a way that gives back to the soil and makes the world a healthier place for all living beings. I do not wish to unknowingly purchase mass-produced, conventionally grown crops, or food that has been grown artificially, in a way that does not return any benefits to the earth.

Soil is life! The microbes involved in soil are critical to health generating nutrient dense foods. Hydroponics does not provide this naturally.

More people are starting to realize that growing the microbial and fungal life in the soil is the key to growing healthy plants and to restore the environment. Don't let big business undermine the health of our environment for profit.

An artificial growing environment, like hydroponics, could never come close to the perfection of nature.

We are consumers of organic produce, and we want to Keep the Soil in Organic!
You are misleading the general public if you allow products not grown in soil to have the organic label.
PLEASE KEEP THE SOIL IN ORGANIC!

Nothing could be more basic than the integrity of soil as the foundation of all nutrition.
