As a certified organic farmer, we need a label with integrity, that can help our customers find products which are actively supporting the soils and environment in which we all live. The best way to do that is to keep our lifelines integrally tied into our environment, not try to further divorce or insulate ourselves from it.

I'm an organic soil farmer in South Florida. I want organic certification to mean stewardship of the land. I really knock hydro farms, but just think the market should be fair, and the label should should mean we're building healthy soil.

Organic agriculture is based on improving the fertility of the soil.
We demand that the USDA Keep Organic Growing in the Soil.

I am a 2nd-year farmer focused on organic and sustainable practices. I am disheartened and frustrated the efforts of so many, myself included, are being disenfranchised by the efforts of these government entities. Hydroponics are not organic and are heavily dependent on liquid chemicals and unsustainable inputs. Soil gives the plants the nourishment our bodies need. Do not replace these with more synthetics.

I'm a U.S. citizen, and reserve the right to know what is going in to my food to maintain the best personal and eviromental health possible. "Greenwashed" language on our food lables is a waste of time and energy of those who truely have good intentions.

Keep the Soil in Organic. Hydroponics should not be able to hijack the organic label. We need to continue to nurture our soils, sequester Carbon, improve our natural systems and organic agriculture does this. By allowing hydroponics to call themselves organic, we are watering down the organic standards and working against the foundational principals from which Certified Organic was founded. Hydroponics needs their own label.
KEEP THE SOIL IN ORGANICS!!!!
Healthy soil, healthy people, saves $$$$$.
