Let my signature on this petition serve as the voice for the millions of people who are unaware of the fact that the soil on which we live is literally the foundation for a thriving life system on Earth.

Soil and the billions of organisms in an ounce of healthy soil matter. Soil and its formation giving life to plants and all beings is of spiritual importance, it's part of our DNA and our soul.

only biology can supply plants with the nutrition that humans require for optimal health. Allowing hydroponics in organics is devastating to our environment, health of our nation and destroys the income for the real farmers.

Hydroponics is to us like living on vitamin pills instead of real food.

Hydroponics reminds me of intravenous feeding, it works, but do you really want to live that way?

I suspect that hydroponics masquerading as soil grown organically are partly to blame for the wide variety in taste in organic supermarket products. Label the hydroponics as separate so consumers can make informed decisions and perform proper taste tests for ourselves

Dear USDA, please require producers who wish to use the term "organic farming" to grow the crop in the soil. Thank you, Alex Coe, Arvada, CO.

The word ‘natural’ has been distorted. Now ‘organic’ is being attacked.

It is important to maintain the integrity of the concept of organic as one that means food grown in the soil. To call hydroponic produce 'organic' undercuts this notion.

A crop not grown in the soils of the good earth is not and cannot be organic. The USDA should stop the reality distortion field they have erected to serve the interests of their corporate masters.

Hydroponic growing does NOT exclude un-natural chemicals. I protest this ruling. Organic is chemical - free. PERIOD.
