Hydroponics is a method of growing but it should not be called certified organic!

Healthy soil is an essential component of healthy organic agriculture. The holistic and diverse microbiome found in living healthy soil is the foundation of the health and nutritional quality of organic crops, and cannot be replicated in a hydroponic system. The NOSB has a responsibility to uphold the integrity of organic and provide standards that reflect truly ecologically based agriculture. I urge you to require soil-based growing for organic certification.

I think the "organic" label needs to be tightly controlled to promote the highest level of human health to be had from soil-nurtured produce.

The definition of 'organic' should only include processes that are natural. Hydroponic agriculture is not natural.

Healthy soil is essential to human life & health on this planet, yet soil erosion continues unabated. Organic farmers are essential to keep healthy soil on this planet. This is why I buy organic. Please keep the soil in "organic".

The label "Organic" needs more than just soil. It needs "Healthy Soil" as a part of its definition.

Do not allow organic certification for hydroponics productions. The hydroponics producers can market their products separately, and go through the education of their customers and offer production transparency as requested. Organics imply soil.

I grow organic produce. I work hard @ amending the soil with compost from the produce I've planted. Hydro is not the same

As an organic farmer, I am constantly working on improving the soil. It is my pride to recycle all organic waste into compost and give it back to the earth. This is why people buy my produce. Hydroponics is not the same! Don't allow it to be certified as organic!

Keeping the soil organic is a huge investment and lot of work. Please don't ruin that for the people who have invested their lives in providing clean food for us and for those of us who they do it for.
