Keep Open the Pedestrian Crossing between Caedelyn Park and Pen y Dre

a disgraceful decision but yet more bean counters in an office who have no idea about the area or the realities

I regularly use this entrance to the park when taking my children to the play area and also when my son has football fixtures here. It is the easiest way for me and my family to enter the park. If it was closed off I probably wouldn't use the park for leisure time any more as it would be made more difficult to gain access.

Are they for real, perhaps they should go there and see how well it is used. They are just trying to cut costs if the close it , then its another area they do not have to maintain. What about all the children that use it to go to and from school etc.

I use this every single day, sometimes multiple times. It would be a huge hindrance to me if it were to shut and I'd be likely to use a car more frequently than walking if it were to shut. Please keep it open!

It is used constantly more so on a weekend when boys need to access Caerdelyn park to play their sports matches. How are mums with peaks or disabled people supposed to access the park ?? It's a necessity !!!

Why do they want to close it? What is the evidence backing their proposal? Have they appraised the wider impacts of closing this crossing?

This is an important link for park users, particularly those with mobility issues.

I regularly use this crossing twice a day Monday to Friday and up to another 2 times on a Tuesday to get to my morning job in Whitchurch and also my evening Zumba class again based in which. I am unable to drive and it is the most convenient and time saving way to get to work, I have seen many students from Rhiwbina primary and Whitchurch high using the crossing and again If the crossing is closed this can add unnecessary time and danger to their journey

Disappointed in the date and time set for the meeting. The crossing is widely used by all and links the area together. I've never known of a incident on that track plus the trains do go slow

This is a much-used crossing for local residents. Closing it would involve a long detour and a great deal of inconvenience. What is the point?

It provides another access point to Caedelyn Park. In the winter the path from pantbach road is often very muddy and hazardous for elderly people and parents with young children.

Save this crossing! Essential!

Would be wrong to close this access. Handy for disabled access, climbing the bridge is difficult for many.

Seems like over reaction to what may only be one complaint. Having lived in the area for 65 years I am not aware of any previous safety issues with this crossing.

Closing the crossing would create a massive detour for many residents of both Rhiwbina & Whitchurch, the young people walking to Whitchurch High and parents and children who use the play area situated immediately adjacent to this entrance to the park!

This crossing allows everyone regards of their mobility to have access to the park.

Rail report says NO ACCIDENTS have occurred, so no need to close it then!
