This land was promised to be forever wild. People bought their homes there for the peace and quiet and nature. In order to stay rural, we need these wild spaces for animals to survive. There is a delicate balance that can be upset with just one development. Geese who migrate, for example, might use this area as a pit stop for generations and if it gets developed, they may lose a valuable rest area. Pond life and wetlands create a large wealth of biodiversity that will be lost. Hundreds of deer, thousands of birds, and millions of insects create an ecosystem that few can comprehend. It would be a tragedy to see this place destroyed. So yes, you are harming humans, but you are also harming the countless organisms that call that small area home.

Please keep our town rural. If we must build, single dwelling homes are the best option. Please no apartments. We have enough apartments and mobile home parks.

I grew up with this as my back yard and my grandparents were told it would never be built on. Here we are years later and our side yard will have a road in it and out of the nice bay window we will have a perfect view of these buildings and a road. Just sad.

My house is on Slocum and we moved all the way out here for the wildlife and wild spaces. Apartment buildings next door is going to create problems and lower my property's value as well as my enjoyment of my property. Plus, the developers made a promise to the residents of the village that their wild spaces would remain WILD. What about that broken promise and their property values?
