Recently the school board of the Norwalk-La Mirada district have decided to change Norwalk High School's 4 block schedule to six periods. This is not fair to the students or the staff members. The choice made was to only benefit the board members to get more money from the CST. Even when it was not clear or not if six periods would even benefit Norwalk on CST scores. They did not care about the students who will get lost in the cracks and not be able to graduate. This is especially not fair to the ESL and special needs students at our school who need our 8 classes to succeed and have a fair chance to learn. We did not even have a fair fight, the decision was made without us having a voice. We have to get our four block schedule back.
The block schedule worked fine for years why change it now? My son actually gets his work done with the longer classes. This is just a bad move for everyone involved.

My daughter is struggling enough as it is. Take away those classes and she might not even graduate on time. This is so unfair to the kids who need that extra time.

Ridiculous decision. Teachers and students are already stressed enough. Leave the schedule alone!!!
