please leave the regulations as is, its not fair to uproot so many, to place such hardship on those that survive with tourist business, and for the families that enjoy an afternoon afloat on the water

We've come from Virginia to stay on a friends house boat on Fontana for 1, if not 2 weeks, every year for 12 years. We hold wonderful memories and cherished friendships through this amazing amenity. Don't take this from us and others who respect and protect this lake!

Our houseboat has been in our family since 1956. My dad bought it when he was 16 years old. It is a place of peace where 3 generations now have shared. We respect the lake and its beauty and have looked forward over the years to passing this tradition on.

Please don't take away the ability for families to enjoy the lake. The revenue that is generated contributes to the Swain County economy.

It's ridiculous that you want to take the house boats off that have been there forever. And your taking the livlee hood of the boat dock owners keep them on the lake!!!!!!!!!!

These boats have been here for years. Can't help but think it's the rich people in the subdivisions like Fontana Lake Estates that want them gone because they think it ruins their view! Stop bowing down to the people that move into our mountains and respect the wishes of the people that have lived here for generations!

this is a part of our heritage and a big part of our family summer get together and recreation I remember from when I was a child and now with my son and his daughter we must keep this alive and well <3

We own a house boat on Fontana and value the sense of community us and our children have enjoyed for years. We are also motivated to keep the lake as clean as possible. The ideal solution would be to lay down rules to clean up the lake, but leave the house boats.

It would be a huge economic impact on WNC to remove the houseboats on Fontana Lake! Also, if TVA had enforced the regulations they imposed in 1978 we would not have the problem.

Spending Summer's on my Papaw's boat house on Fontana lake when I was growing up are some of my most favorite memories of my childhood!!!!!

As usual, TVA over reacts. They have done nothing to oversee the or control the current situation and now want to remove all the houses, even the ones they permitted in the first place. Who does have oversight of the TVA?

As an owner of a TVA house for 25 years, if you are worried about too many houseboats then crack down on the NC houses that are non compliant to the NC boating rules first. I bought a TVA house and planned to pass it along to my kids and grandkids. Houseboats on Fontana are part of our way of life. What about the promise of the pre 1978 agreement? Will this be another broken promise to folks in Swain Co like the Road to Nowhere? Allow folks who have tried all these years to follow the rules to continue to do so.
