There is no reason why these houses can't stay right where they are.

Sunsetting existing floating homes that have maintained in good standing, and up to date with all TVA regulations, is like taking away someones car, simply because there are too many cars on the road. I agree you can forbid any new ones from being built and even regulate how and require min. standards of maintenance be met by existing ones, but to expect floating home owners to give them up in 20 years and pay to remove them is un reasonable and bordering on dictatorship.

I have a floating house on Norris. This would be a big lost of income for the marina and towns around them. Not to mention the hardship of us owner.

The 20 year sunset is an unacceptable option, especially for grandfathered floating houses. TVA allowed the floating homes to multiply and now they just want to make the problem go away. That is unlawful as well as unfair to those of us who own and maintain these houses. And it will be detrimental to the economies of the local communities and marinas as well.

There have been houseboats on Fontana for at least 40 years I can remember. Leave them alone

Removal of these floating houses should be illegal. Worst case scenario is to grandfather existing floating houses. We camp on Norris Lake and would hate to see something like this impact the local economy on Norris.
