I spent my summers on a houseboat as a child. I want the same for my grandchildren.

Please don't sunset these homes. We purchased only last year and we would lose our entire investment, not to mention the wonderful memories we were hoping to make with our children.

Do something smart with this bill. Don't ban these houses from small families and private citizens. Ban commercial development of our lakes.

I grew up spending every weekend of summer at our family's floating home on Boone Lake (and plan to be there every weekend again once the dam repairs are complete.) I can't put into words what our house boat means to my family and me. It has been the constant in our lives that keeps us together. I urge the TVA Board to consider the consequences, both financial and emotional, to the families who will be losing their floating homes if we are forced to destroy them.

Getting rid of all of the "non compliance" houses is completely understandable, although, getting rid of all floating houses is ridiculous. I have loved growing up on Fontana and enjoy it as well as my entire family. TVA could make a new proposal as to regulate the houses as need be, but to ensure all house boat owners as well as marina owners that their livelihood and lifelong businesses will not be taken away from them.

We urge TVA to reconsider the sunset provision and adopt Option B-1. All existing floating homes should have the right to remain on TVA lakes. Removing them would be detrimental both to the floating home owners and to the economies/businesses surrounding the lakes.

I don't own a floating home personally but I've rented several over the years. I would like to see the ones that meet codes & regulations remain on Norris Lake but remove the ones that refuse to meet code. I want the lake to remain one of the cleanest in the Southeast.

Please allow us to keep our houseboats...I have been enjoying the lake since the 70's

Removing those houses would destroy the marina industry on Norris Lake. Considering the costs those marinas have had to make those houses comply with environmental regulations. Aside from all this, those houses are a major tourism attractions for that region.

These small towns and marinas struggle as it is. Guess what most of these seasonal folks pass by on thier way to Tennessee? Kentucky! There is already marinas in Kentucky looking to take advantage of Tennessee's big dumb idea and have started advertising this same type of real estate that's actually closer for most commuting folks. Wake up Tennessee!

The arbitrary decision for the government to take away (steal) so many families' financial (and emotional) investments is extraordinarily disturbing to me. I don't disagree with creating regulations that would keep the reservoirs cleaner, but I think you'll find that those people who've invested time and money in dwellings on the lake are the very ones who care the most about keeping it clean. They are the ones who pick up and clean up every time they are on the lake because they appreciate the environment more than most. Taking away the boathouses is not the answer. Surely with all of the people involved in trying to push this through there is at least a few folks with the intellectual capacity to create a reasonable solution for all parties.
