Keep Non-navigable Houseboats and Floating Houses on TVA Reservoirs!

I have spent every summer at lake Fontana for my whole life. My dad grew up there and I plan on my kids growing up there as well! It is a second home to me and my family.

There will have to be limit

I would hate to see this happen to this lake. I grew up on this lake and look forward to bring my children to enjoy the house boat life as well. My father has owned a house boat on this lake for over 20 years and it is his home away from home I know he would be devastated.

As a 10 year houseboat owner who plans to retire in our houseboat I fully support TVA changing their sunset plan!,

Our houseboat has been in the family since at least the 60's and I want my children and grandchildren to be able to enjoy the beauty and peace of Fontana as I have for 50+ years. Let us stay, please, TVA.

I've been going to our families houseboat on Fontana since I was born. It is a part of me and my family and would want it to be a part of generations to come. Don't take this away from our family. Horrible that this is even being considered. Very disappointing

They should not have to move. Let them enjoy the lake.

My parents have a boat house out there....that's where we all have vacation at since the beach is too far.

I strongly oppose the TVA's plan to remove Houseboats from Fontana Lake. Either grandfather existing legal Houseboats or pay Just Compensation!

Best times if my life were on this lake dont stop them now!!

Our wonderful mini vacation place...to be taken away in the not so distant future....so not only do we lose this bit of heaven, we lose the investment AND have to pay to remove or destroy it. TVA, please reconsider a better compromise. We agree with some of the upgrades-they will definitely improve the lake- but please don't ignore the economic impact these houses bring to the area.

This entire situation seems to be brought about due to the floating homes allowed on Norris Lake which were not properly permitted. To my knowledge every floating home on Boone Lake jas been properly permitted. A very large percentage have been upgraded or are relatively new. They are essentially sexond homes to most and a primary home to my family for 6 months each year. I have been fishing these waters for 55 years. I have yet to see a duck or fish die or be ill from Styrofoam. This home represents a $100,000 investment for me and my heirs. I believe my family has a constitutional right to enjoy the waterways from our home as much as those who reside on the shorelines. I mediate civil law suits. This can be resolved without depriving homeowners of their constitutionally protected homes. Or causing enormous expense to marina and homeowners in order to enjoy the waterways. Our homes do not discharge fossil fuel as do moving boats and moving TN # barges. As a matter of fact we are much more friendly to the marine environment. Respectfully, Tony L. Howell

Let people keep there house boats. Grow up leave the house boats alone

It is time that north Carolina took charge of its on water we have had houseboat for 30 years we thought would be able to leave it to the kids and grandkids its time for our congressman to step in.

Our boathouse has been in our family for many many years and I have so many memories there. We just spent 20,000 on new inclosed Styrofoam, don't destroy future memories.

We have put our life savings into our houseboat for family enjoyment and retirement dreams! The proposal is unfair to those of us who have made these investments of time, energy and savings. We purchased our houseboat under the promise of TVA;s grandfathered program and paid considerably more to obtain our houseboat location....and are very conscientious when it comes to regulations and environmental concerns. We would support sensible regulations, but to deny us our property and dreams is unjust. Please take these factors into consideration in adopting new regulations.

Keep the house boats

Please keep these home for families and kids can enjoy

It will be a sad day for Fontana if this passes.
