Keep Non-navigable Houseboats and Floating Houses on TVA Reservoirs!

This is cool

As an owner of a floating house located in the Alarka area I feel all existing floating house should be allowed to remain without a sunset period. We support Tony Sherrell of Alarka Dock and the greater Swain, Jackson and Graham County areas. I would ask that TVA reconsider the sunset period of all floating houses.

This should only be relevant to those that do not have a TVA number and Wildlife number. Do not punish the ones who abide by the rules.

We have owned a floating house boat on the South Holston since the early 1990's. I live in Florida and vacation during the summers. We've married, buried, baptized, had family reunions, and are planning on retiring and spending the summers on the lake. We've made significant financial investments and can't understand why legal, permitted, viable investments are being threatened in this manner. The sunset rule is pretty poor. ThanksBruce

The people on Fontana that still own these house boats love our lake and repeat the laws. I am all for keeping OUR lake clean but removing these homes is not the solution.

I am in agreement, to leave what houses are already there to stay, and prohibit no more build. To many have put to much work and effort into these vacations sites, and in my opinion the lake is still very pretty.

For keeping houseboats on TVA lakes

I love Norris Lake and our floating homes there. I support TVA in their efforts to protect the lakes and the future of these lakes, which I want my children and grandchildren to enjoy the rest of their lives. Our family is committed to keeping "our" lakes clean And enjoyable, but plead with TVA to allow us to plan for our future enjoyment and preserve the significant investments we have made to enjoy it with our family for many more years to come.

We have followed TVA regulations for years and invested lots of money into these homes, please don't now take them away.

We have had our houseboat since 1972, and has a TVA number. It is the same size since 1972, but we put v. siding and a new roof on it.

I own a grandfathered, pre 78 houseboat ( F- TVA # )and feel that it is unfair to remove TVA permitted houseboats !

Don't take the one last thing us native poor people have left to enjoy

I grew up on that lake. My uncle and his entire family had house boats. I have friends still today that have them. This is a safe family friendly place and our world needs more of this type of experience not less of it. You will be throwing more of our youth to the wolves. Don't take away a lifetime of memories. Come up with other means.

I grew up on Fontana and would like my children and their children enjoy it as well.

My parents bought our houseboat over 30 years ago and have spent years going down every time the water is drained or raised. The financial difficulty, not to mention the loss, would be impossible to comprehend. Why should we be told to move it, when we've never caused problems. Enforce no new building, or removal of the houseboats that are not taken care of. Many families would feel enormous heartaChe at the loss of memories and love for this lake. Is this to be another place that is only for the rich? What shame and disappointment in the this law.
