Keep Non-navigable Houseboats and Floating Houses on TVA Reservoirs!

As a house owner this is upsetting My family has been at fontana for over 45 years

We love renting the floating homes on Norris lake. They are so much fun! If you take them away.....Norris won't be as fun anymore.

My wife and I have owned a houseboat for fifteen years.

Save the house boats

There would be a lot of missed memories if this ban takes effect. I hope families will continue to spend as much time out on the water as possible.

TODD HAMLIN CEDER COVE NORRIS LAKE , I have a floating house boat my dad will be leaving me when he pass on people will lose money on their investment. I understand about the foam and gray water but the remove of the floating house boats my dad has worked in the coal mines all his life and has invested in a 125,00 dollar in thes and if the 20 yrs get votes in not only will me and my dad lose that boat he will lose what he has worked for to keep the lights on all his live its not rigth for someone to lose that investment that they worked their ass off for. not only that the docs and everything else will be so high in momey ppl wont be able to buy anything on the lake . thank you todd hamlin

To ask those who have complied with all rules, regulations, and environmental concerns to give up their hard work and money spent on these homes is asinine. Our family has enjoyed the houseboat for years and should be able to continue doing so. Existing houseboats should be left alone, especially those already grandfathered in.

It's a very sad day , the lake and the land is the peoples. The government needs to listen . House boats are part of the beauty at this lake.

I am in favor of keeping the lake clean. Please look at other options. Enforcement of existing rules could go a long way.

My wife and I are owners of Crisp Boat Dock, located on Fontana Lake, Graham County, NC. My family income is dependent on the business generated by the floating house boats. Also, we live in an economically deprived county that depends heavily on business that boat house owners contribute to the economy, including gas, groceries, and even lodging. Why create a situation for boat dock owners and customers that will only sink our county and surrounding counties into further economic devastation. Our boat dock marina, and surrounding ones, follow all TVA guidelines, including the pump out regulations. I, David Crisp. am one of the founders of FLWR ( Fontana Lake Waste Recovery). I have worked hard to make Fontana Lake one of the cleanest lakes around. This proposal is wrong and needs to stop. This will only hurt families, boat dock and other businesses.

This is very unfair for the floating home owners, the marinas and the tourism industry of Tennessee!

Lake Fontana is where we go to get away from the stress of daily life!! We work during the week anticipating Friday to come so we can head to the lake for the weekend!! Please don't take that away from us!!!

Growing up our family didn't do much outdoor except maybe swimming at Bent creek but my children my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our boat house last year this will be our second summer and hope to have a lot more to pass down the generations

My family and I have spent many many years living life on the lake. We have done nearly everything there is to do on the lake. Spending good quality family time on the house boat was one of my fondest memories! Please don't let out of towner's take away our fun and escape from reality. We, as boaters and lake enthusiasts, enjoy the get away and vacations just like others that vacation at other destinations such as the beach or theme parks. If this bill is passed, I know a lot of boaters that have said they will travel to other lakes or even sell their boats, bringing a lot less income and revenue to the area. I know my family spends thousands of dollars in the area each summer and hope to continue to do so. This is to big and small businesses in the area. Many of the small businesses will likely sell out or go out of business due to the lack of income being brought by avid boaters.

Our children and grandchildren rarely spend more than 2 weeks a summer on the boathouse, but they enjoy and look forward to it every year. It doesn't seem right that the government keeps taking away from its citizens: the land, the road and now, even the water and the government gives nothing in return.

My family has had a houseboat on Fontana lake for over 60yrs,starting with my father. I have sons and grandsons on the Lake now .

We have been at Fontana Lake for decades on a family TVA boathouse, and have owned our own TVA boathouse at Alarka Marina for 13 years. The value of our boathouse is $40,000. We always paid rent for our space, a required annual pump fee (since the last time they tried to get us off the lake for 'polluting' it) as well as paying county property taxes. How can you pay property taxes on a house worth $40,000. and someone gets to come along and tell you that after 20 years you are just supposed to throw that money away? In addition they are telling marina owners, like Tony Sherrill, that they intend to kill his livelihood. I'm sick and tired of the 'Wealthy' telling those of us in the 'Middle Class' that we don't deserve to have our place on these lakes. Believe me...THAT is what this is all about; ONCE AGAIN! They played the pollution card once already, and the boathouse owners all immediately installed holding tanks, and the marina operators started pumping them out per a required annual contract. Someone is wanting to develop these lakes for the 'Rich' and thinks that 'WE' will be a deterrent to their sales. Watch out Middle Class, your rights are slowly but consistently being taken away by the Rich. FIGHT BACK, FOR THE SAKE OF FUTURE GENERATIONS!
