Keep Non-navigable Houseboats and Floating Houses on TVA Reservoirs!

The time that I have spend on Norris Lake and the experience I have gathered are things that can not be replaced. A young person learns a lot by living on a lake such as Norris. The natural relationship between the environment and the people that call it home is a delicate balance. Those that have homes on the lake understand this balance. They understand that you have to respect nature and give back to it. These are all lessons that can only be learned through having fun and working on the lakes.

TVA's current recommendations hurt families and the local economy.

This is terrible. TVA shouldn't be able to do that.

Enforcing the current regulation is all that is neccessary.

Please don't punish the whole TVA floating house community just for the arrogance and ignorance of a few. Please focus on where the real issue is....and note the wishes of the Tenn legislature please in regards to their recent decision to oppose this.

We are at Stardust. Floating homes are not causing any issues. Inspect all homes to verify there is a holding tank or better yet contact the pumping company to get a customer list.

Should be no problem with these nonnavigateable floating houseboats , cause less problems than moveable boats.

Our family has had a boathouse since 1956. The best times of my life were spent at the boathouse. I want to keep the memories going from generation to generation.

The proposed policy changes seem excessive.

Need to keep non navigation house boats most are better built and way more homet

Keep on lake with holding tanks

we have all complied with the rules of holding tanks. we are not damaging the lake at all!! please reconsider this totally ridiculous rule!!!

Our retirement is tied up in our houseboat. After the Wall Street collapse, most of our retirement funds vanished into thin air. Now TVA wants to take what's left? The financial and economical hardship alone brought about by prohibiting these structures would be staggering!

Would be a shame to see these go .

Plan to live on the lake in the next 15 years on a houseboat.

I visit NC during the summer & look forward to spending time on the floating house at Fontana Lake. Vacation would not be the same. Generations of the family has had a houseboat on this lake.

Let us keep our FH's on Norris Lake

The final EIS issued by the TVA recommended proposed standards and a sunset of no more than 20 years that would require removal of all FH's. The TVA should implement the standards, study the results of implementing the standards and then decide if the removing the FH's is necessary. Perhaps implementing the standards and enforcing those standards would provide a result that was beneficial to all parties and would not create a financial hardship for the local communities, marinas and FH owners.
