My parents moved onto a floating house full time in Fall 2014. Our floating house is not only a great vacation spot to spend family time on, it's home for my family. I hope someday I am able to bring my kids to their grandparents floating home and share with them something that has been a big part of my life.

Please let these floating homes stay on the water. Just let the existing ones stay but not allow any additional ones.

My best friend spends many harmonious hours on her boat house on the Holston. I love visiting her there and look forward to my two grandsons fishing and swimming with us out there. The beauty of that lake and backdrop of the mountains make a special day picnicking and relaxing. It would be a tragedy to remove the floating houses from our waters. Granted, some could use a clean up project, but others, like my friends, are extremely nice and attractive. Please consider a different approach to these vacation/ temporary homes. There's nothing more comforting than a day on the boathouse.

Tim & I are FH Owners, at Norris Lake, we have been vacationing at Norris Lake for the past 9 Yrs. with our Family. Prior to 2013 we had always rented a Land home. My Sister and her Husband decided in 2011 to purchase a FH, in 2012 Tim and I just for a weekend went for a visit, and that was all it took for Tim and I to Know 1000000000000000 % we needed to purchase one. My sister and I with our Family grew up around water, boats and were taught to protect, Love and cherish what Mother Nature was allowing us. We were fortunate enough to find our Home away from Home 7 FH away from my Sisters. We drive 4 hours one way each weekend to be with all our FH owner FAMILYS. I believe that you will not find a more responsible LAKE LOVING group of people then all the one that LIVE and RENT on ALL TVA LAKES. To remove all FH in 20 yrs. would be a VERY BAD CHOICE for the TVA TO MAKE. Just knowing what we spend in season at our FH, Utilizing all the stores, Gas for vehicles, boats, Jet Skies, Parts,clothing, toys, Presents, Mooring yearly for our FH, and Boat Slip,Sales Tax, I could go on and on to say the least. So Multiply just the amount we spend by all the other FH owners Renters, House Boats and in less then 20 yrs TVA Lake Communities that we as FH owners help support through out the years will be NO MORE. Just the impact of our not spending our hard earned Money for all the items and more listed above would make a HUGH impact on all the communities that surround OUR BEAUTIFUL TVA LAKES. WE believe WE as FH owners are all in favor of any improvements that would be recommended to help in PRESERVING our TVA LAKES, BETTER PROTECT WHAT WE ALL HAVE BEEN ALLOWED AND CHERISH SO MUCH, IN ORDER FOR OUR YOUNGER GENERATIONS IS NOT UNREASONABLE. In saying all that WE just as ONE FH OWNER am asking the TVA to STOP AND REALLY RETHINK THIS ISSUE OF REMOVING FH.

These proposed changes should not be passed. They benefit no one. A limit could be put on allowing more homes on the lake.

This type of ruling will hurt a lot of people not being able to enjoy the water the people that own marinas their income is going to go down it's just not right I'm sure there's a different way to work this out then being so harsh with ordering the boats off of the water

I'm 59 years old, I've been going to Fontana from the time I was 9 years old. Hunting , fishing, camping. I never was fortunate to own a house boat, but many of my friends did, they allowed my friends and I to stay on their boat. When my friend and I used to stay during the beginning of summer, as the lake rose, we earned gas money for the old Larson boat we had moving house boats and tieing them up in the coves and on the cables , hooking up spring water . Don't remove the houseboats. Don't know what the agreement was with the owners. But Fontana belongs to the people. TVA may have built the damn. But used tax money to do so. TVA everytime they are involved with damns or power distribution , they are like the communist, once they get a toe hold, they take over. Take Waynesville,NC, Waynesville built a damn to supply water for the city, had some issues with the soil and the damn. Waynesville ask TVA for advise , now TVA rules the water shed, Waynesville was going to have a camp site and rec area. Now you can't even be there. Just keep the houseboats, !!

I grew up on Norris lake on several of these houseboat that were owned by my parents & other friends & family members....it was some of the greatest moments in my life, it would be an absolute shame to not allow future generations to have the opportunity to enjoy this way of life...

A tradition. This is the recreation and vacation that many families rely on for quality time.
