Please don't take our floating Houses away ,We look forward to our weekends away .You will be taking away people's lively hood & the county revenue will have a hugh impact. Houseboat owners buy gas ,food ,supplies that give economic boost to the area

Please keep the houseboats on Fontanna.Removing them would be a costly mistake to your county.
I see no more pollution around the houseboats,than I do further down the lake,where there are no houseboats.
The economy of the county would be greatly impacted by such a harsh plan and the great enjoyment of so so many.

The house boats are up to code as far as pumping the sewage and keeping it out of the lake.As a regular user of the lake and rental houseboats,I see better quality of the water now,as opposed to several years ago.
Also, the economic impact of removing the houseboats,would be a disaster to an already poor county.I come from Asheville,to enjoy the lake and houseboats,therefore,it would impact more than just one county.
PLEASE,LEAVE THE HOUSEBOATS ALONE,AND WHATEVER YOU SEE AS POLLUTION,EDUCATE THE OWNERS,AND I'M SURE THEY WILL COMPLY IN ORDER TO KEEP THE BOATS ON THE WATER.

We specifically purchased a houseboat with a Fontana number because of it being grandfathered in 1978. We have maintained it and meet all regulations of TVA. We pay taxes and spend many, many dollars in Swain paying two boat slip rentals (Almond and Alarka), a houseboat rental to Alarka Marina, gas to several docks, groceries in BC, eating in restaurants in and around Bryson City, shopping, whitewater rafting, motels for friends, etc. We should definitely be grandfathered in to stay on the lake so that our family can continue to enjoy Fontana.

I have been going to Fontana since I was a kid. We have a lake house but I remember friends with house boats and playing there in the summer time. It would be a shame not having them there for future use.

Our houseboat is pre-1978 and we should be grandfathered in to stay. I was lucky enough to play, hunt, fish, work and relax in this piece of God's country my whole life. We've raised our 3 boys in the same fashion.

This should not apply to permitted homes that are grandfathered under current regulations.

Leave people's lives and families alone. Go make your money somewhere else instead. You wouldn't want someone tearing down your home just to make a buck would you?!

We love the lake and agree that there should be restriction to assure everyone is safe including keeping the lake safe. But, financially devastating peoples businesses and investment because of years of neglecting to regulate is unjust. No reason to throw the baby out with the bath water. The TVA must take some responsibility for years of turning away from their responsibilities. I would have never purchased two FH and started a vacation rental business had I known that it could all be destroyed by an over reactive TVA board. Regulate don't destroy!

Please don't take my floating cottage away. I have worked very hard to keep it up. It is the only slice of heaven I can afford.

This is silly. Only stupid liberals would try and get these houses removed. There are more important things going on in the world for people to worry about and they want to focus their attention on removing floating houses at norris... get real!!!

I feel we are as responsible as any lake user. We are moored in a marina, not blocking any navigational route. We contain our black waste and have a commercial pump out. We use solar power. We are not reckless, we are not polluting with a gas engine. We are the public using the lake in a peaceful, clean manner.
