There are many ways to raise this modest amount of money including but not limited to corporate sponsorships and a modest surtax on Newburgh sewer bills. While no facility lasts forever, it should be apparent that funding the current pool, while in need of some expected repair, would be much less costly than it's demolishion and constructing a new one.

Great memories of my childhood and teen years were at Newburgh Pool. It kept us occupied and out of trouble...without the pool we’d have been bored. It was fun, clean and supervised...a safe haven where we all got along.

I've lived in Newburgh my whole life and worked at Newburgh Pool for 6yrs. when I was a teen. It's still a great place for teenagers to work and a wonderful place for families to spend their summer. I think it's a shame that you are wanting to close it! Please keep it open!

I don't understand why these issues were not more available to the public and it sounds like the decision was made by 3 people in the government. . In addition, what horrible planning to shut it down so quickly without any input from the public. If these issues were know they could have been dealt with or discussed at the very end of summer last year.

What a shame to take a summer fun activity away from families. This will affect revenue for the other area businesses as well. Don’t shop Newburgh because they don’t really want to attract families.

One of the biggest assets to our little town is Newburgh Pool and the Fortress of Fun. Why in the world would the town even consider closing the park?!?

It seems a shame to abandon the Newburgh pool after 45 years of faithful service to the community. Surely the shortfall could be made up from other sources so that the town could maintain this facility.
