Keep NatWest in Barnes

When Barclays branch closed down NatWest had a great opportunity to get new customers, yet they did very little in terms of advertising to drive customers to their bank. I believe that if they made only a small effort, NatWest would secure enough new clients to justify keeping the bank opened.

This branch is never empty. We are a wealthy group but there are also a lot of elderly people who don’t use the internet. If I’m going to have to do on- line banking, I ‘ll move my money to a proper on line bank.

Nat West Barnes is a busy and thriving bank which is an essential part of the Barnes community.

This bank is very important to the local community, especially the many elderly residents.

The elderly and local businesses really need a bank in Barnes. This is such disappointing news.

We urgently need to keep the only bank open in Barnes. Not everyone either wishes or is able to do internet banking.

This branch is the friendly face of Natwest, with good service and helpful staff, able to resolve problems caused during online banking. The cashpoint's efficient and very rarely out of notes.

To have no bank in Barnes would be awful; many of us bank online but as individuals, businesses still need to function and there are still a great many people who don't rely on the computer.

It is traversty for our last community to bank to close, especially as banks increasingly expect face to face transactions and cashpoint/payment in services are important. Once again banks are putting profit above loyalty and customer service.

I use this branch very regularly and I am horrified it might close.

Another sacrifice of needs of the older generation on the altar of commercial profit -and some more job losses of well trained and helpful staff.

NatWest is the last bank in the village, if it closes that will be the end of face to face banking in Barnes. We will have to go to Hammersmith or Putney to pay in cheques, draw out cash, or to meet anybody. Until they close those branches as well, and then you will be at the complete mercy of the Internet.

A cash point is essential to the community and even better a bank. With the forthcoming closure of Hammersmith Bridge it will be difficult to get to a bank without driving............yet more cars on the roads.

We are in our 70s and 100s! Have banked here all our lives. Are you thinking about the elderly residents? How will they manage? What are you doing to our village? So much for progress. Please think again and be human not robot.

We clearly need a cash point and it would be so much better if Natwest left it even if it decides to shut the branch

Outrageous, I wonder how many new accounts will it take to keep the branch open .

At least keeping the cash point would be marvellous!
