Two of my three children have been blessed by the experience of having Mrs. Killian as a teacher. Since hearing the news that her contract was not renewed, each of them have shared their disappointment and surprise. They both state emphatically that Mrs. Killian was/is one of the best teachers they have had and that she not only challenged them but made learning fun. I, too, am disappointed. I realize there are always two sides to every story, but have a hard time imagining (nor do I want to) that Mrs. Killian's teaching, behavior, attitude, etc. would have necessitated such an action.

Mrs. Pat Killian has been very open that she does not wish to be “retired”. I have had 4 children taught by Mrs. Killian, over the last 10 years, & I feel that she is THE most engaging, loving, intelligent and creative teacher that STM has employed. Asia Market, Africa & Middle Eastern nights, DC field trips ...she makes a positive stamp on all of her students.

Just like most, I am very upset and angry about this decision by the STM administration. Mrs. Killian has given her heart and soul to STM and it should not be just thrown away.

Keeping credentialed and superior teachers in our school system is crucial to the education of our children. It is disheartening that a petition needs to be signed to vouch for this teacher.

Landon adores Ms. Killian- he looks forward to her class and has made a positive impact on him and his learning. She makes learning fun!

Mrs. Killian is the best teacher I have ever had. She has taught me very well. Her teaching style has brought me from not having any interest in social studies to having it to be the class that I look forward to during the day.
