Mrs. Killian was one of those special teachers who did way more than fulfill her duties as a teacher - in time, in effort, in her own creative, generous methods for engaging and enriching students through the study of history and culture. She added a much-needed dose of compassion and humanity to the school, as well, and the quality of education at St. Thomas More will certainly be diminished by her leaving. I, frankly, wonder at what has happened to the administration of the school if any conflict could not be resolved with her.

Though I may not know the circumstances that surround the startling news regarding Ms. Killian, I can confidently say that her name unquestionably brings back the delightful nostalgic memories of being one of her students in a 7th grade social studies class. A truly kind and wonderful teacher who possessed plenty of enthusiasm and patience to deal with an energetic student like myself, she will always be remembered as one of my favorite teachers while attending St. Thomas More. I find it an awfully questionable decision for future students to be robbed of her teaching and I implore STM to reconsider her contact termination.

I enjoyed having Ms. Killian as a teacher. Her large world projects (Africa Night, Middle Eastern Night, Asia Market) were the best ways that I learned meaningful things about social studies and world history. I strongly believe that successive generations should get a chance at these amazing projects. They will impact your life, and give you a sense of appreciation for the many cultures the world has. Public school never has this kind of teacher, coming up with creative ways for students to learn social studies (debate, world history, etc.). Terminating will only make STM much like any other tradtional school. Killian's class is one thing unique about STM that I do not see in almost any classroom in my current school.

I remember Ms Killian as a strong teacher whose interesting personality and interests in the students help keep us at STM instead of leaving for public school.

Mrs. Killian was one of the greatest teachers I have had, not only at STM, but throughout my time as a student. She not only cares about making social studies fun for her students but also about her students on an individual level. She would always take time to listen to us and any problems that we might be having at school or otherwise, and that is an invaluable characteristic in a teacher. Mrs. Killian always sought to instill in her students a love for history and an appreciation for other peoples and cultures, which I believe is absolutely essential to one's development as a member of our society, particularly at such a young age. It is my hope that many STM students to come will be able to learn as much and have as much fun as I did during my time as one of Mrs. Killian's students.

Pat Killian Was one of my best teachers. She taught me to look at the rest of the world and to appreciate different cultures. Without her inspiring drive I would have never learned so much about the world.

Mrs. Killian was one of my favorite teachers at STM. She made social studies fun and interesting. In her classroom, students were encouraged to dive into socials studies topics that interested them personally. Through her many creative projects, Mrs. Killian was able to make topics in the class stick in my mind, even after all of these years. I hope children for years to come get to experience her class.

I had Ms. Killian as a teacher for two years at St. Thomas More, and what I learned in her classes still has stuck with me now 6 years later. Her classes are engaging and exciting for students and are an incredible learning opportunity for all. Terminating Pat Killian will absolutely detriment the exceptional social studies program at St. Thomas More that is made exceptional because of her.

Pat Killian is by far the greatest teacher I have ever had the honor to work with during my career. No teacher has ever cared so much about her student's wellbeing both inside and outside the classroom. Her absence from STM would leave a hole that could not be filled.
