Pat Killian was the most transformational teacher I was lucky to have at St. Thomas More. I would not be where or who I am today without her helping me learn to ask why

Dear STM administrative partners,
This change represents another disruption to the academic environment at the middle school. If a much loved teacher with a wonderful student rapor is willing to be a teacher at our middle school, retaining her teaching expertise benefits the continuity of the academic environment. We can not afford the constant change of teachers without a substantive derogatory impact to our children. Further , these types ofvdecisions are creating a very unhealthy derision in the STM community at large . If mrs. Killian is willing to stay on at this point , a reversal of this administrative decision is in order coupled with an apology .

Pat Killian loves and respects her students and teaches them to love and respect themselves and one another. And as evidenced by all the comments here, she is wildly successful at earning their respect. She creates an energetic, creative, collaborative and fun environment where she challenges students to expand their minds about the world and their places in it. Simply said, Mrs. Killian is that rare breed of educator who teaches students to think for themselves and gives them tools for life.
This is yet another sad example of an administrative decision which seriously impacts the educational quality and integrity of the school being made without any input from the school community.

Thomas shared this news with me last night and I was speechless. The teacher that he trust his life with will not be staying at a school where she belongs. There might be more to the story that we have not heard... but as of know I am in full support of keeping Pat at this school. She is not only a role model but an inspiration, she brings creativity to the most boring subjects of all. I would be extremely upset if my two younger children Grace and Charlie would never receive Pat's creativity, love, and inspiration.

Letting Mrs. Killian go would be a huge mistake. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had and definitely had a impact on my life. Her projects like Asian Market and Africa Night are what made her class so much fun. She teaches in a very unique way and that's what makes her great. Kids would most definitely be missing out on a great 3 years of Social Studies.

Mrs. Killian is one teacher that cared about me while at STM. I could talk to her about anything. She even knew when I was feeling down. STM would be so boring without Mrs. Killian.

Mrs.Killian has made all her student excited to teach. With her excellent projects and amazing trips she has made learning fun. She is one of the best teachers at STM. This school will not be the same without mrs.Killian and you will never find a teacher as excellent!

I am very disappointed in the school's decision. I love Mrs. Killian very much. She has taught me always to strive for better and greater things and taught me what I can become. I would be deeply saddened if she wasn't here for future STMers coming through the middle school. Even though this year is my last year, I want to express my opinion in hopes of Mrs. Killian continuing to do what she loves. No matter what, I will always love her and cherish her classes. She is the BEST teacher I have ever had. I will miss her next year when I move on to high school. It's okay Mrs. Killian, you deserve way more respect than this!! We love you so much!! Continue being awesome because you're nothing shy of that :)

Mrs. Killian has shaped the lives of hundreds of STM graduates over the years. She is an essential part of the STM experience, and the administration should be fighting to keep her, not trying to force her out.

Mrs. Killian is the best teacher my daughter has ever had. She has taught her so much and is excellent at keeping the kids interested in learning. It would be devistating to lose such a wonderful teacher.
