I’m a sixth grader at Roy Gomm and Mr. V is a really great teacher. Everyone wants him to stay.

This decision by the school district is contrary to NV Law, which they try and justify due to lack of funding. This is unacceptable and goes against the very reason why these laws are in place, to protect our children. Now this decision to take away this amazing teacher is actually harming young students in two grades (four different classes) based on being two students under in one class. This is happening when there are also schools in the district who are way over projected numbers and still not getting allocations for teachers or funding.

Why does this change need to happen mid-year? This is disruptive to the 4th grade class, the 2nd grade class, Mr. V, Mrs. D, and all of the parents that are now trying to explain an irrational decision and comfort their children wondering why. This decision seems hasty, I’ll-advised, and lacking creativity. Let’s do the right thing for everyone and find a solution that works.

This is shameful way to treat our educators and a horrible example for the children who depend on them.

Horrible decision. So many affected for being short 2 spots! You owe these 4th and 2nd graders more than that!

As one of Mr. Vs students I can tell you that we are all devastated. The tears shed yesterday continued today and are not how my classroom experience should be. We have felt so excited about learning each day in this classroom. It is not just unfair that we are penalized for poor planning, but gives little faith that you have our best interests in mind.

Our granddaughter is very upset that Mr. V is leaving. This should not happen after the school year has started. Once the school year has started this disruption should not happen to any student. They become used to their teacher and now you want to take this wonderful teacher away from these students. If there was a problem it should have come up before the school year began and the students at Roy Gomm should not have to pay for the mistake of Washoe County School District.

This is unacceptable, my daughter has settled into 4th grade and loves Mr. V. We even requested him. This is so disruptive and my child was practically in tears yesterday when she found out. Please keep hom here. I can donate from my company to support his salary. Rubicon Envrionmental Consulting. Www.rubiconec.com.
