I’ve worked with Mr.V - he is an amazing teacher and should be given the opportunity to thrive.

Young Teacher are leaving the profession after 5 years due to policies like this one. A count of students prior to the beginning of the school should be done. It is not fair to teachers and students who have formed an important bond to remove a teacher once school has started.

I have no children that attend Washoe County schools, but my taxes go towards paying teacher's salaries and this is despicable. Get it together Washoe County. Stop sacrificing students' learning and success in school to continue to line administrators' pockets.

"Every child, by name and face" should be more than just a motto. They're just meaningless words in a district with student-blind policies that regularly disrupt/disrespect the important foundations built in the first weeks of a classroom. Four classrooms disrupted, two teachers who've carefully planned and nurtured students must now fly by the seat of their pants. Unacceptable!

On Wednesday, 9/12/18, my daughter, who is in the Weber/Daines class, walked out of her classroom in tears, her little heart was broken. She had just found out that she was losing one of her teachers and that her fate in HER classroom was unknown. We had learned over the summer that the team teacher classroom, in which we all refer to as Weber/Daines, would be back for another year of pure joy, magic, and all around educational awesomeness! My daughter was beyond excited, as she was getting two teachers she had been waiting years to get! Yet, here we are, in shock and in disbelief and in tears and left wondering now what? This whole situation, which cannot be stated enough is over two students, has drastically changed the dynamic and environment of a school that year after year has rallied around its staff, teachers, parents and most importantly its students! I am not signing this petition for the sole fact that this decision has emotionally wrecked my 7 year old daughter. I am signing this petition because our children are more than just numbers on a ledger. Our teachers are more than just people who stand in a classroom. Our school, which receives the bare minimum in funding, is not just a school, it’s a community and the whole community has been disrupted due to the number 2 on some sheets of paper in some person’s office. It’s not only disheartening as parent who has four children attending schools in WCSD, it’s just plain ridiculous.

I am not in favor of this decision. Lack of planning is no excuse. There’s a reason nevada is continuously at the bottom of the barrel for education. Northern Nevada is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. When More housing is added, more schools are needed.

I know this wonderful teacher and the district will be performing a disservice to the parents and their children with all of these changes

I firmly believe that this would negatively impact the learning of students both in the 4th grade class as well as 2nd grade classes. The first term is almost complete and bonds with teachers have been formed. It would be a disservice to all involved.

There needs to be analysis done as to what the cost is to these children who are being shifted around like game pieces in the middle of the school year. This is not a game and these kids will not be the winners. The detriment to these kids and delays in progress educationally will set them behind their peers and behind what their potential is. This is deplorable. There are ratios in place for good reason and stability in educational settings is also necessary. This creates too much chaos in their little lives.

I'm a student of Mr. V and I don't think it's fair to move him to a different school about a month into the school year. He's a really good teacher and we don't want him to go.

The bigger the classroom size, the bigger the district superintendant's salary. Down with school bureaucracies.

You have got to be kidding me. Eliminating teachers because of funding??????? Our kids are our future and I want well educated people in the future. It’s all in your shoulders. Let’s start spending what we need to highly educate our children.

Completely on board to make some changes district wide!!!! class size and education is important for our entire community! Let’s use this energy to shake up the board/ district and let them know our concerns. Change can and needs to happen!
