Mr.Newberry is a really important part of Wexford, he is there for everyone and does a great job at making everyone feel confident in what they have to offer!

I don’t go to wex, i know a few students that do and from what i’m heard this guy is a fantastic teacher/mentor to all the students from the kids who are teachers pets all the way to the trouble makers. if students are going as far to make a petition to try to get a teacher to stay to teach them he obviously is doing an amazing job. now i don’t know the full story nor do i think he should not take a better teaching opportunity if one arose and that’s why he’s leaving but if it’s not his choice and simply just his boss firing him/re locating him if definitely take a second look at it and really evaluate if the sadness of the students and a loss of a mentor for so many kids is really worth it.

Mr. Newberry brings many years of experience and is very important part of the arts program at Wexford. The students really need him. It would really hurt the program if he wasn't there.

Mr. Newberry was an instrumental part of my high school career and without his encouragement, I sincerely doubt I would’ve gone in to my field of interest. During my time at Wexford, he was constantly going above and beyond to help and listen to his students— not only did he found the chamber choir in order to offer students more classical vocal opportunities, he also established the Performing Arts Student Council at student demand, and consistently worked at the goal of giving aspiring song writers the opportunity to explore and record their music. During his time at Wexford, Mr. Newberry has done so much to offer opportunities for his students to grow and thrive, and it isn’t fair to move him from a school that he has given so much to.

Mr. Newberry helped me SO much during my time at Wex. He builds authentic relationships with his students, offering much needed guidance, stability, and warmth during a time that can be tumultuous, especially leading up to post-secondary. I don’t know if I would be where I am today without Mr. Newberry, and my story is not unique! Keep this wonderful teacher at Wexford.

When I had my Wexford audition I was incredibly nervous when it came time to sing solo, however I remember Mr. Newberry was there smiling and silently cheering me on. I didn’t end up choosing Wexford, but I’m sure he’s a very positive influence on the students there, so yeah!

Newberry was my vocal teacher, in grade 9 his first year at wex and mine back in 2014
I have grown as a performer with all if his help in Musical Theatre, among all my other arts programs. He is a necessity to Wexford and all of the alumni love and appreciate him so dearly. we would not be the same people we are today without his help and life lessons. He is more than just a regular teacher. He defines what wexford is all about
