I don't typically get involved in this type of activity. As a business owner I understand the sensitive nature of personnel issues. However, I thought it important to express my disappointment in the boards decision to remove an instructor that has had such a positive influence on the students and the dance program at Longleaf School of the Arts. Mr. Willie's dedication to Longleaf is obvious, as is his love for his students. The loss of Mr. Willie is not only a loss to the students and the parents of Longleaf School it is a huge loss to the school itself. I would like the board to reconsider this decision.

Mr. Willie is the one who really brought our school together. Many rely on him as a figure of guidance in times of need. Others look to him for inspiration. He made Longleaf a place that I and many others wanted to be, and was the main reason why I wanted to stay at Longleaf. He has every right to stay at Longleaf. He has made it a home for everyone in it.

Mr. Hinton is a true asset and one of the main reasons we have stayed with longleaf. He's such a wonderful teacher and connects with his students in a way that is rarely seen these days. The students are engaged, energetic and excited to be part of his curriculum. He is not only there to teach but he is truly a support for the students in other areas of school life. Always encouraging them that they CAN achieve success when they do their best! Losing Mr. Hinton would be a severe heartbreak and loss for the Longleaf family.................

Mr. Willie has been a fantastic dance teacher for my daughter. He demands that his students push themselves to do their best. He also cares about each person--not just the dancer. He gives the students a forum to talk--our family has had a major medical crisis and he listened and made my daughter feel so much better. He is one of those once in a lifetime teachers. I sincerely hope that Longleaf will ask him to stay, and he will accept.

I dont him very well, but i've heard great things about him. I was thinking about coming to the school just to be in his dance program but now since he's leaving there is no point in going. I rather just go to public school if he's not gonna be there.

It is because of mr. Willie that I have gotten over a lot of my social anxiety; before this year if I did something like drop a pen in front of people but he changed that. He is not only my favorite teacher, but one of my favorite people as well
