I've never had Mr. Dawson as a real music teacher, but from what I have heard and seen, and from my first experiences with him, I think he is a great teacher. When I tried out for Jazz Band in the middle of the year, I wasn't accepted by the Jazz Band teacher, but Mr. Dawson encouraged me to try later or next year. I was at the recent music concert and I saw people that I could never have pictured as musicians become skilled and inspired by him. I cannot imagine what the music program would be like without him, especially after seeing the old one which was basically a teacher expecting you to understand everything in seconds (I was in music for a little while in the beginning of last year).

Mr Dawson has been such a great teacher and our son looked forward to his music classes eventhough he was hesitant at first. Please keep this great teacher in our school.

Not renewing Mr Dawson's contract sends the wrong message to the family that is New West. It makes parental evolvement obsolete. Please reconsider.

Mr Dawson is an amazing music teacher and a great inspiration towards everyone at New West, so I really hope that he is not taken away from us… it would be devastating for all of us.

I don't know why Dr. Weir thought this would be a good idea, but Mr. Dawson is one of them most dedicated teachers that I have ever met. I speak for all of Period 6, and hopefully the rest of his classes, when I say that Mr. Dawson cannot be replaced.

I sat through the entire spring concert although my nephews were in only a few pieces. I was blown away by the attentiveness of Mr. Dawson to each group, and his pride in each student.

Mr. Dawson has been only my 2nd music teacher. He has been amazing in the music industry. He always has a bright smile. He has never said that someone isn't trying hard enough. I can't think of anything that he has done to not get a renewal. Thank you for a great year of music. Lord willing, you will stay at Nwc. You are awesome at what you do. Thank you very much. God bless you.

Mr. Dawson is a fantastic music teacher! He has helped the NW Ensemble develop the voice of a true music group and it would be a terrible loss to New West to see him go.

Mr. Dawson's music program was the best thing about New West. Our kids learned so much and it created an incredible community of parents as well.

Even though I only had him for maybe less than a semester last year, he was still a great music teacher. I remember they were constantly firing and hiring new music teachers last year because none of them were good, until Mr. Dawson. Unlike all the other music teachers, he was actually fun to talk to while still being an amazing music teacher. He should not be fired and I really don't understand why they are doing this.

Mr. Dawson has been a huge inspiration to my son. He has put more hours into practicing guitar at home this past year than in any previous year. Mr. Dawson has motivated my son to push himself musically and to be as good as he can be. It would be a great loss to have such an inspiring teacher leave the school..
