As someone who has been knighted by the queen himself for musical accomplishments I am deeply saddened by this proposition. I feel that music play an important role in how students grow and learn and should be given the utmost priority.

Music and art are very important. Look around, art is every where. Listen and music is everywhere. Do not deprive our children, allow them to grow and learn.

Mr. Albright was my band teacher when I went to Southern Middle School 10 years ago and to this day I can remember valuable lessons and music pieces that I learned in his class. Please keep his full time position!

I played the Flute from 4th grade all the way through graduation. I also learned how to play the piano my senior year. Music education is very important and needs to remain!

Arts are crucial in developing the holistic student and giving students another outlet to achieve. There is a direct correlation between students involvements in music and their educational achievement. This perspective is from an alumni, community support and teacher.
